Dalhousie Project

Overview

The Dalhousie project is an ortho-magmatic Ni-Cu-Co (nickel-copper-cobalt) prospect located within the mafic-ultramafic package of the Bell River complex. It is located on the north-central margin of the Abitibi orogenic belt in proximity to the Matagami mining camp in Quebec, Canada.

Location and Access

The Dalhousie project is in the James Bay region, with excellent mining and exploration infrastructure along with plentiful technical expertise. The project is located 53 km ESE of the town of Matagami, and 3 hours drive of the mining hub of Val-d’Or. The project is fully accessible by road.

Geology

The Dalhousie project is an ortho-magmatic Ni-Cu-Co-PGE project located within the mafic-ultramafic package of the Bell River complex. It is located on the north-central margin of the Abitibi orogenic belt in proximity to the Matagami mining camp.

Ni-Cu-Co-PGE mineralization is associated with series of outcropping pyroxenites. Sulphide mineralisation is present at surface across the project in large rusty patches, many of which remain untested through drilling.

Limited historical drilling, up until the late 1980s focused on poorly constrained geophysical anomalies, yet successfully intercepted mineralization near conductive features. A property-wide time domain electromagnetic survey, completed in 2007, identified multiple conductive features coincident with surface mineralization, these targets remain untested. Historical chip channel samples collected above the untested conductive features graded up to 3.79% Cu, 0.9% Ni, and 0.28% Co6.
